Grieving Tree

Grieving Tree

"Grief is just Love looking for a home."

Does you have a little one who is grieving the loss of someone they love? Are they in need of some extra support at the moment?

We have just the thing to help! The Grieving Tree.

This gorgeous kid's art activity will help your child to gently begin their grieving process and support them for as long as they need it. With you they will create a special tree. Once complete they will collecct little items, drawings, objects which remind them of their special person and peg them on to the tree or leave them at the base. Grief can be so tricky and it comes in waves but this little tree will be there to help at every step of the journey.

This little gem will:

  • Help them to self soothe and gently begin the grieving process;
  • Help them to discover they can change their thoughts and feelings by focusing on happier memories;
  • And help you both to feel more connected!

What are the benefits?

  • A go-to solution for parents and children when your child is grieving the loss of a loved one;
  • A learning opportunity to talk to your child about feelings and how to begin to understand and work with their feelings (and therefore gain knowledge about how you can better support them);
  • A meaningful, uplifting opportunity to express their creativity through object choice and decoration.

What's in the pack?

  • Your 'How To' guide;
  • 12 coloured pipecleaners;
  • 12 tiny wooden pegs;
  • Pot of air dry clay.

This activity helps your child begin to cope with feelings of grief and loss. These are such important life lessons and experiences,

There is no age limit for this activity, but we recommend that it works best for children of primary school age. Younger children will need more support with making the tree and when and how to use it in general.
